At the Gateway Learning Community, we strongly believe that blended learning is an integral part of effective teaching and learning across the curriculum, equipping pupils with the knowledge and skills to become confident and safe digital citizens. Blended learning is a balanced approach to learning where children are led by the teacher but have opportunities for self-guided learning.

Within our trust, we have invested in devices so all pupils have the opportunity to use a range of digital devices. All pupils in Key Stage 1 have access to an ipad in their classroom and in Key Stage 2 all pupils have 1:1 devices to use in class and take home. This gives all pupils the opportunity to develop their computing skills but also their curiosity of the wider world which can be accessed by the worldwide web.

All devices have state of the art antivirus and filtering software to make sure pupils are always safe searching online.  We also utilise the use of the Google Workspace Applications and Google Classroom which provides pupils with the opportunities to develop their knowledge of word processing and creating content using safe and relevant applications.
